It was early in the morning,
about half past five.
I was running on empty,
trying to stay alive.

I received a call saying,
Hey, I think you are late,
for this important event,
your first blind date.

Wait a minute, I said,
before he hung up the phone,
"Who is this person? am I
to go all alone?"

He said of course you are,
is that too hard to understand?
Well, I went where I was told to,
and it was my very first one-night stand.
