My mind is spinning,
like a blade
in a wind storm.
Full of questions
about the upcoming days,
when my wife will move,
into a memory place.
I intend to go with her,
at least for awhile,
to make sure she's happy
and see her sweet smile.

Gone are the memories,
gone from the Sun.
No longer to remember,
no thoughts of anyone.
These are the days,
we knew would come,
no longer being present,
all our days done.

What is the name of
this hideous disease?
What did she do
and now must appease?
Remove all her memories,
isn't that punishment enough,
when your friends ostracize
their contacts, as mental dust.
Go from this life,
leave us alone,
for she won't know you.
Consider yourself gone.
Goodbye our friends,
do not seek us out,
when this happens to thee.

There is a special moment
which lies ahead,
where all the words written,
will be there, to be read.

I would like, to hear
every thing, which was said,
about you, in your glory,
which remains hidden and unread.

Is this now the time
to flee to the sky,
on gossamer wings?
Important to do,
much harder to say,
when changes are made,
to benefit all,
in the care to be received.
Why do I feel,
I have failed my vows
and deserted my wife.
"It's all for the better",
someone will state.
I know this is true.
It had to happen,
of this, there's no doubt.
Why am I not ecstatic,
being by her side,
in a memory unit,
I'm just along for the ride.

When your hair is shorn,
it sounds like you're a sheep.
If you have been sheared,
did it happen when asleep?

A litany of time,
there surely must be,
when words must rhyme,
if written for thee.

Help me now.

I am praying,
down on my knees.
Strengthen my resolve
for the decision made,
to maintain the quality
of the life, which we knew.
Can you help me now?
from this job I have
and can not resign.

I become saddened,
when I see,
how you are now.
Why did this disease,
have to be,
where it goal is to
destroy your memory.

In the wee morning hours,
before the dawns early light,
we ready ourselves
for the upcoming fight.
A fight for our freedom,
the World will see,
as we sacrifice lives
for our Country to be free.

I'm not sure what it will take
to be alert and stay awake.
I will try the best I can,
to be strong, like a man,
although, I must and do admit,
women are much stronger and hit
the tasks men try to do.

I've noticed new growth,
from our Grape Hyacinth,
around the small rocks,
in the front-side yard.
The Salvia, "Hot Lips"
with the white/red
flowers still grow,
providing feed for
the Humming birds.
