Dear Friend
A Comment by Loy
Lucky to have a friend like you - xo <3
My dear friend, a verse for you
to thank you for all you do.
You have helped me, with abandon not
to release all the skill, I've got.
Knowing that this writing is not pretty,
you must admit, it is a ditty.
Love to you
My dear friend.
I look out the window
and what do I see?
Frost covered lawn
and my Maple tree.
Frost, like a blanket,
providing little warmth to me,
a cold December,
chilling me and thee.
The mind is full of words
in disarray .
If not written down,
then there they stay,
to spin within and around
not making any sound,
but because they flit
within my head,
I sleep naught.
when I am in bed.
When the eyes well up
and the tears that flow,
do they rust your eyes
or clog your nose?
The aging process, we know, can't be delayed,
unless of course, we go away.
Not an option, not for me,
for I love my life's opportunity.
Push forward now, my life long friend,
and do the work, let's not pretend
The furnace came on,
my hand has a cramp.
Time to get moving
and to "break camp".
Good day to you all,
be it big or quite small.
A prayer for all of you,
for the work that you do.
Was in the yard, starting to rake.
I stopped and did a double take.
Looking at the ground, I did see,
the tips of bulbs, peeking at me.
These are bulbs, planted in the Fall
and were not expected, not at all.
I expect blooms, in April or May,
certainly not on this blustery day.
When my hand, does start to tire
and my words, are not afire,
then for this night, I now retire.
Goodnight dear reader Did I inspire?
Off, I go, into the fray
to capture words, without delay.
This morass of words, may go away,
as they aren't really here, to stay,
unless to paper, in my dismay,
are written down quickly, as I say.
I want not, to lose them today,
a jumble of words, much in disarray.
When the tears fall
like a leaf from a tree,
isn't it a wonder,
that we can see?
Tears may flow
from our eyes,
to a bare cheek.
It's an emotional release,
not because we are weak.
Some may hold, a tear or two.
Others weep easily, like me and you.
It is not a weakness, don't you see,
as it may help retain your sanity.
I don't know you,
I don't know your Mother,
but I still know
you are my brother.
Merry Christmas to you.
Happy New Years, to thee.
Let us make do
and adhere to civility.
