Sweetly provocative.
Oh, elusive love
Where are you now?
Where is your hiding place?
Can you be found
In the eyes of children
Or in the tinkling sound
Of their laughter
Or looking into crowded rooms,
Will I see you
In the face of a
Smiling stranger?
I'm sure, that you both know me well
As I begin my descent to hell,
For I have tread this path before
And I have opened up the door,
Which has a sign of "No Admittance."
Nervous reaction from where I stand
Gives me a feeling of being in sand,
That trembles, even as I slowly sink
Towards deprivation and into drink
From which there will no end,
With no chance to amend,
To you.
I've dreamt a dream of puzzling things
And found myself, aloft, without wings.
In this dream, my mind was a muddle
For my head was lying in a puddle,
At my feet.
I envision waking up
In a dark and dreary place,
To find someone, throwing dirt,
Down around my face.
I suppose it would be,
Superbly bright of me,
If I would let you see,
How really foolish, I am.
People are like plants.
Many need love and attention,
others thrive, with no care, at all.
Like flowers, some pass quietly,
at an early age,
while others live forever.
Standing in the middle of a lonely bar,
I think of you and of the way,
it used to be.
Remembering all the joys of yesterday
and of all the fun we made.
I rise in the morning,
while you, lie in slumber.
Leaving the warmth of
your body.
Sometimes, I envy you,
being able to stay in bed.
I realize, that I
take you for granted,
by not telling you,
how much I need you
or how much I care.
I like the way you
wear your hair
and your smile,
but I don't tell you.
I will,
someday.
If I enjoy living,
please tell me why,
I fight depression.
When I am happy,
no other person is happier
but when I am sad,
how depressing.
I must be a paradox,
to my friends,
those that I have.
Moods make the
personality, but we
are not supposed to be
moody.
Perhaps, we are not
supposed to have moods
but be even tempered or
mechanical.
Tell me that you love me,
say the words to me.
Tell me that you love me,
and I will always be,
your love forever.
Take my hand and lead me
to the place that angels dwell,
among the pines and fern groves,
where wild flowers tell,
of their existence and their presence.
Walk with me, beside the water,
hear the sound of a bubbling brook,
let the scents and sounds surround you
and be sure to take a look.
Can you see the color? Can you hear
the sound?
Can you see the love that shines,
when you are around?
Do you know my name, or does it
really matter?
Will I remember or forget,
engaged in idle chatter
or will you leave me alone?
