Midnight strangers, dare to meet,
At the darkest hour of night,
In caverns, caves and deepest woods,
Where sunlight never peeks.
The grasping, clutching pull of
Hands, are tugging at the sleeve,
Of those who wish to depart from
Here, where darkness never leaves.
All the pities and sorrows of the
World, gather, all massed around
The entry to the depths of hell.
He lies, awaiting you, in shadowed
Corners.
Beware, if he offers you his hand,
For you will be dragged,
To the depths of oblivion.

I am but one person, in this world
And I will be what I will be.
I will march to my own drummer
And will sing my own sweet song.
Those of you, who don't like that,
Well, you don't have to march along.

There is a pizza, aptly named
The Idiot's Delight.
At this particular moment,
I'm the only idiot, in sight,
Sitting here, writing trite,
Words that rhyme
And don't.

Life's short span,
Passes quickly
And before we know,
Life has passed us by.
Live for the moment
And for every sigh,
For all the joy
That passes by,
For you, my friend,
Are a beauty, that I
Will miss the most,
When I die.

Where have you gone,
My pretty one?
When did you first think
To go?
Was it because of the
Argument,
Or for spurning you so?
How can I ever apologize,
or ask you to please don't go,
If I cannot talk to you
Because you are absent?
My nights have grown,
Oh so lonely now
And I miss not having
You here.

I see your face before me,
Your smile lights up the room.
I hear the echo of your laughter,
That lifts the daily gloom.
I look for you but you are gone
And no longer speak my name.
My memory fails, as I sigh
And try to hide the pain,
Of my sadness.

The whole world, is full of sadness.
It can be found in a myriad
Of shapes and forms.
My sadness is nothing,
Compared to those of the world,
So why do I feel sad?

Tomorrow's day is coming
As the hours, quickly pass,
Fleeting, ever ticking,
Faster than a blink.
Life's most precious moments
Are but a twinkle in your eye
That are washed away,
With tears of joy
Or sadness,
At being unable to recapture,
What was lost.
Is there really, justly meaning,
In the deeds, we try to do
Or are they futile efforts,
By me and you?

Cast off, discarded,
Dead before we're gone.
Forgotten by our loved ones,
Our only begotten sons.
Ignored by our children,
Pushed toward the grave.
Forced into leaving a business,
Where we always gave,
Great contributions, for
All the world to see.
Now we become nothing,
Returning to the earth
As dust.
Tell me now, my friend,
Was it worth the living?

I know you dear, better than anyone.
Better than anyone, that's how I know you.
I know the smile on your face, before me
And the love in your eyes, tell me so,
That trouble will never surround you,
For I will never let you go.

Would I,
Could I,
Someday,
If, I were,
At the moment,
Brought to task,
For what I am,
Old, tiring,
Simply lacking,
The desire
To become
A boisterous man.
May I try?
Do you think,
I can?

I know not, your name
But I have seen your face,
Before.
Catching your fleeting image,
At night, in lonely bars.
I have cried,
Unable to find you,
In crowded rooms.
I have asked,
What is your name?
Where are you going?
Why do you elude me?
I listen and hear only silence.
Lost, alone, I keep searching
For an elusive love.
