Pardon me,
if I am rude.
I'm trying to change,
with a new attitude.

A cut-up banana,
a bottle of gin.
If you eat this
you will be thin.

We sat there giggling,
having a little snort.
What I thought was wine,
was a simple, tasting Port.

Recently, I signed up for my very first pickleball tournament. Previous to that the last time I participated in a formal athletic competition of any kind, Richard Nixon was our nation’s Commander-in-Chief. Knock back a Waggle Wock,
no matter how you try,
for if you mistake its mood,
you might possibly die.

Wiggle Wocks, come
in a distinct size,
beware the slim ones,
and avoid the shocking surprise.

Love it or leave it,
isn't quite there.
Try it or buy it,
Buyer beware.

Standing in the hallway,
when out of the blue,
a lady approached me
and said I know you.

I said, "I don't believe so,"
she said, "I do too,
you worked at Boeing,
where I worked too."

I said, you are mistaken,
but I don't know you."
She said, "You sat next to me".
Not what I wanted to do,

so, I said, "Listen, you have it wrong,
I never worked there; I never did."
She looked at me, saying," Look
Handsome, you are right, you're just a kid."

Shop worn,
another word for used.
Does it matter if it happens,
in our life or are we excused?

My mind is racing,
my tongue stuck in neutral.
Good thing, for who knows
what will spill from this old mind.
