I am thankful for you
my aged child,
for you challenge me
all the while.
I love you, wanting you to stay,
For I'll be by your side every day.

Would I be the man
I am, without my wife?
The answer, is to me,
Saying in this reality,
No.

I wish I still had today.

I am now lost
and won't be found
for my sanity is losing ground.
Discussions I have at night
are meaningless, yet in spite
of all the love there is to give
I feel lost and will not receive
the heart felt feelings, I see
from you to this tired me.

I miss you, Miss Ellie.
I really do.
I'm happy now, for
I can still talk to you.
There are no words
For me to say,
As you don't understand,
much on this day.
Social discussion with you
I do love and not to discuss
current events to avoid
All the political lies.

As well as you can be,
For my love is here with
You, for the World to see.

Tell me more about the
World you live in when
you are away from me.
I see you sitting in your
chair when you are about
to say, "I'm bored."
When you cannot grasp the
words I speak or
what that object is. I
see the surprise then
appears when you pick up
an object and say "this?"
There is no connection to
the objects you see and
the name it is called.
Forgive me sweet one
if I don't understand
when you ask me a question
of something, over and over again.
I'll try to reply with
my best guess.

She lies in bed
Unawake.
Her state of health
Understood.
Her memory gone,
Unaware.
She has Dementia,
Unfair.

Your eyes were pools of blue.
They weren't the best part of you,
For the part of you I found
Was your view of life; so profound.
Your voice, the sound that Angels sing,
Would draw me to you, once again,
But you have left and gone away
And shan't return here, if I stay,
For a lost love, is what you are.
A lovely, beautiful shining star.
I miss you now, most every day
And I will write until I've gone away.

I watched a Cat
start stalking a hare
or perhaps it was
a Rabbit , there everywhere.
The animal sat still.
Still as can be;
the Cat was creeping,
stepping slow and quietly.
Admiring the Cat's patience,
I waited to see,
but the Rabbit hopped
off and left hastily.

The happy times run through my mind.
These fond memories are nice and kind.
Remembering back to our wedding dance;
It had the sweet sense of our romance.
I remember you, when going to the zoo
And the childish excitement, in you.
When I think about this life we had,
Most of it good, very little bad.
My love for you continues each day,
Although the first love has gone away.
Please come back. Come back, some how
As I try hard to fulfill my wedding vow.
