Love not in haste,
For when you are done,
It will not be a waste
Of time or effort, to be alone.

It matters not, what you think I am,
It matters only, that I'm a man,
Who cares about, his family and friends
And need not try to make amends.

Your breath's, warm softness, touches my cheek,
As I lie along side of you.
My search for you, is what I seek.
Reaching, for the warmth of your body
but I awake and you are gone.

I will no longer allow, myself to succumb,
To that path, when I was young,
Fearing not, if I lived or died,
For it mattered not, if I tried
To have drinks, dance or race cars,
Beneath the dark sky, with sparkling stars.
My memories, of these events, grow dim;
My youth, is no longer a whim
Or fancy affair of daring, so odd,
As I have now, finally found God.
Praise the Lord, for these wonderful things,
As I truly do live amongst kings,
With friends, of long standing, near,
No longer, is it death I fear.

What would my life be, without thee?
That's difficult to answer, can't you see,
For you are my life's only light
And you make everything about me right.

There were times, in years of past,
When I thought, I would never last.
Coming to me, that day of yore,
I had no idea; what's in store.
Perhaps it was, what has been said,
You might have been, better off dead,
Then to cling to life, every day,
Instead of just simply, to run away.

Talk to me, of sweetness and love.
Show me a sign, from up above.
If we are to love all mankind,
Then help me rework, my own mind.
Nothing in this great world, my brother,
That says not, to love one another.

Where would I be without you?
Why must you go away?
My love for you, grows deeper,
Than words could ever say.
I see that you are still here,
At least you are physically
But the memory, once so good,
Continues to slowly slip away.
Don't leave me now, my dearest one,
Not before our life is done.

When day is gone and I'm alone,
To absorb, the quiet of my life,
I'm unencumbered, by not using my phone.
Reflections about this and about my wife,
Give me pause to review over again
That which troubles me, trying to strive.
So, I say to you, in this way,
It is better to help keep alive,
Memories of what awaits, on this day.

I never said, that I was perfect
And never intended that for me,
So please don't judge me, so poorly,
When I'm not who you thought I'd be.

When sadness does come, to visit you,
Don't let it delineate, your life's view,
For life, as we all must see,
Is not about just you or me.
The plight of people, in this land,
Uses the rule of supply and demand.
This plight is what, will always be,
Unless we all improve ourselves financially.

I don't know about you,
But I love the Red,
White and Blue.
Happy fourth, everyone.
