One of the BEST parts of my job is all the amazing people I get to meet — like Mari Peterson.

I'll be flying with this lady again tomorrow and I can't wait. She's a total rockstar and an amazing human.

Kirk Cameron will be bringing the Cameron living room to churches across the country, and wants you to join him for a heartfelt conversation about what matters most to husbands, wives and parents.

Think of it as a "home-run date night" with Kirk along with special music guest, Matt Hammitt.

Come enjoy a time to get away with your spouse for 3 hours to laugh, pray, learn and worship together as everyone dives deep.

You'll walk away from this event with a new lens to see your family through and you'll definitely be inspired to give your family a "Living Room Reset". Don't miss it!

Get ready to experience Ragnar like never before with the new Ragnar Seattle Sunset!

What makes Sunset different? A smaller, 4-person team, less mileage, just one day of running and a whole lot of festival fun.

Join the adventure, starting Saturday afternoon, at Lake Sammamish State Park, just 20 minutes from Downtown Seattle. Teams of 4 will try to outrun the sun on a 3.95-ish mile loop, relay-style, two times each. Together you will run 31-ish miles - that’s more than a whole marathon!

Your goal? Finish before the sun sets. This course has a mix of packed gravel trail and paved path, making it perfect for runners of all experience levels. Team up with anyone from your running fanatic best friend to your grandma!

When you’re not running, hang out with your friends and lots of friendly strangers at the festival at Ragnar Village. The venue opens at 12:00 pm so teams can come set up sweet hang out spots around the village. There will be live music, food, games, a beer garden and other amazing features! You won't want to miss this event!

When: Saturday, September 14th, 2019 from 12:00 - 8:00 pm.
Address: 2000 NW Sammamish Rd, Issaquah, WA 98027

We weren't an "outdoorsy family." My mom, always said, “Camping is one bathroom and slow room service."

So while I grew up hunting with my dad and building forts in the backyard, my childhood was spent with easy access to a shower and a soft bed.

But the older I've grown, the more I've learned to love the outdoors. The more I relish nature. It's a passion I can't wait to share with this little girl and continue to foster in myself.

A huge shoutout to Rachel Zupke for letting a novice hiker tag along and for introducing me to the amazing Brenda Ulinski — who graciously captured the pictures in this piece. You two fill my heart with joy. I can't wait to hit the trail with you again, perhaps with a little friend!
