Are You Brave
• 10/31/23 at 12:07AM •Are you brave,
or a coward like me,
who is reluctant to let go,
for I need her with me.
Retired for many years and now re-discovering some writings, from long ago, along with new endeavor to help save my soul.
Are you brave,
or a coward like me,
who is reluctant to let go,
for I need her with me.
I sit and wonder,
just where you are.
Are your memories,
forgotten and no more?
I worry now,
more than before.
It makes me love you,
more and more.
To each his own,
the order of things,
no matter what
our life will bring.
Face every day,
with a happy smile.
You will be happy,
for a long while.
Too much information,
you'll need to bring,
will be your happiness
and you'll start to sing.
Write of tomorrow
and what life may bring.
Think about others,
make your memories sing.
Life is quite fleeting,
in the Cosmos we know.
Prepare for tomorrow,
get on with the show.
Windblown rain drops,
pelt the glass pane,
as water trickles,
down the window frame.
From out the dark,
a whimpering sound,
suggesting tears,
with angst abound.
A long, lonesome
goodbye.
No, "I love you," kind
of try.
Life changes,
every day,
so why bother if love
will stray?
Anguish,
a word I hear.
Sadness,
a word, I fear.
Glory,
things on high.
Repost,
things we'll try.
Love, a fleeting promise,
which exists not.
Look for goodness, in others,
in the land that time forgot.
Waiting for you to decide,
I'm walking the steps of my mind,
searching for those memories,
I have left behind.
Must I be this person,
who runs away, to hide,
when the only thing missing
is my foolish male pride.
The uncertainties of life
have come into play,
as assumed functions,
continue to stay.
Seek not Yee all,
of riches and fame,
as you may leave,
while others remain.
Working hard to
put your nose to the wheel,
as life progresses,
bad memories may heal.
Winds, gusting, blowing rain,
splatter against my jacket and face,
soaking through fabric to skin.
A cold, wet, rainy day, to race.
