Bury My Heart
Bury my heart,
where it should be,
next to my loved ones
and along side thee.
Retired for many years and now re-discovering some writings, from long ago, along with new endeavor to help save my soul.
Bury my heart,
where it should be,
next to my loved ones
and along side thee.
He awoke in the morning,
his clothes were all wet.
What is this? came to mind,
why am I outside on our deck?
Wet clothes, body cold,
did I do something?
Will I be told
of another failure
in this lonely life,
where I failed again
to protect my wife?
Don't stop now.
Don't make amends,
for your choice
of who are your friends.
Being obsessed
with another
isn't healthy
for you.
Your mind,
doesn't work
like it's
supposed to.
Jealousy, Rage
other emotions,
will do
much harm
to you
and harm
those who
love you.
A new life for her,
she won't care.
A new life for me,
my soul laid bare.
Working on a six pack,
going on the lam.
Am I drinking beer
or leaving, like in scram?
Hit me with your best shot,
record it with your cam
as if there was no tomorrow
across the countries, mass of land.
Leave this place forever; forgive
but do not remand
for instead of a solid foundation,
your footing will be sifting sand.
Old growth trees
pierced the air,
a living cathedral,
growing every where.
Majestic the height,
upward they sprung.
God's masterpiece,
hiding the Sun
from forest floor,
moss covered timbers,
fallen long ago,
with Huckleberry bush
growing from older trees,
dotting the surface
with patches of blue,
provided by God
for all of you.
Yesterday morning,
my wife said to me,
"I don't know
who I am."
She spoke out free,
she didn't know her family;
she didn't know me.
Wind blows hard
on branches of trees,
making them sway
inconsistently.
Leaves fall,
floating to the ground,
landing in piles, high.
Leaves will feed,
as they decompose.
Make sure you rake
them from your lawn
or you soon will
require new sod.
I received another shipment
of Tulips today.
Over 50 I must plant,
along with Daffodils,
Crocus and Hyacinths.
Apparently, when I ordered
I forgot I had ordered some others
so I have approximately 75 total plantings
left to do before a hard freeze.
Now can I find room in my yard
for finding a spot to place
may be extremely hard.
Never more to hear the sweet sound of your voice.
Never more to hear the laughter when we rejoice.
Why does this World of ours
Relish darkness and not the Stars?
All the joy which life will bring
Is best expressed when we sing,
Halleluiah, halleluiah.
Flows the air, slowly
past the worries,
trapped in your mind.
Concern for others,
not as fortunate as you.
Mistakes will be made
prior to meeting, there
at the table, near
where he lay covered,
in dirt; his will
broken, by his hate.
Spring forth the morning,
run they no more.
Push hard for justice.
There is still time,
to correct the issues.
Both yours and mine.
