For want of a word.
For a want of more time.
Why in the World
must my words rhyme?
If words are hard,
or just sublime,
why must they rhyme,
time after time?

The sunlight chases the shadows,
laying deeply hidden,
away from light and will
stay there, in place, until
disappearing from our sight.
Shadows cover the flaws of
the Earth. Flaws here since
the day, God gave birth.
He provided the Sun, Sky
and the Universe, sayeth I.
Long may thee and all your
offspring, whomever they be,
live long and healthy lives.

To write again these words to you,
brings satisfaction in what I do,
for these words, which are here,
will remain on paper, as I disappear.
Written words, as a writers craft,
brings forth meaning from the chaff.
Are the words confusing? I will ask,
for writing thoughts is my task.

Long will I wander.
Long will I roam,
until I see you again
at the place called home.

You were the day
and became the night.
The sunshine became dim
and the sunlight took flight.
All of the joy
and the happiness too,
ebbed and flowed,
each day for you.
You no longer know me,
but know you, I do,
as this life no longer
has a beautiful view.
I am confused, as I see,
little about our history.
You talk now in riddles too
and have hallucinations,
more than a few.
I am beyond myself now,
unsure of what I should do.

I have a word,
in the back of my mind,
which I hope is flattery,
and not too unkind.
Words full of richness,
not those of despair,
but words of happiness,
for all; everywhere.

Of all of the what's
and all of the how's,
why is it now, I'm up
before all of the cows?

My mind is so lost,
for it is seldom home,
as here, in the World,
it remains by itself; alone.

A fish out of water,
not close to the Sea,
not what I asked for,
it is what it will be,
to work hard for family,
in this The land of the Free.

There is nothing like
writing poetry and prose,
to describe all the beauty,
as seen in a Rose.

Are sins of our Fathers
our sins too?
Are we responsible for
acts we never would do?
How can you be accountable,
if you were a child?
Yet here we are now,
accepting all the guilt,
which our Fathers avow.

Moisture wets the lid of my eye,
as I resist the urge to not cry.
Seeing her before me, a smiling face,
with all of her beauty and natural grace.
I must keep her close; close to me,
for my need is her safety I must see.
Long have I loved you; every day
is a new one and I will say
I love you in my own way.
