I walk the night,
my head hanging down.
I'm not saddened,
just watching my step,
avoiding the puddles,
small watering holes,
where darkness is rich
much like the air,
laden with hope,
for the here and now,
as I, alone,
trod this path
towards a destination,
I do not know,
spare me the talk.

and I will in turn,
let myself go.

Did you ever
walk a train track,
where you took
small, choppy steps
on the creosote ties?

I see your legs,
oh, what can I say,
to avoid writing,
something risque'.

Long will I wander,
Long will I run,
until I arrive at
my first home.
Home in the Valley,
far from the sea,
where I still hear
voices calling for me.
Hide in the shadows,
if you choose not to run.
Lie in the vast meadow,
warmed by the Sun.
Stay there forever
until your journey is done.

A sharp pain, down my spine,
as I remember when
I asked you to be mine.
Our life was great,
our life was so fine,
when Dementia attacked;
robbing you of your mind.

The sky was the color
of Chinese Porcelain Clay.
A deepening blue; crimson the edge,
when the Sun sank below the
Horizon, with an explosion of noise
was when a discovery came,
about this beautiful life of anguish
and pain. While the beauty of
life will always remain.

Sun light streams
on the window sill,
creating more heat,
yet there is still
a feeling of cold
in the Winter air,
telling us all
the weather is fair.

Black hair flowing,
down neck and cheek.
She smiles, all knowing;
your heart skips a beat.
Being in her presence
is not for the meek.

Sometimes I think
you are the lucky one,
for you cannot see,
all the damage done
to a lifetime of joy.
Life's memories now gone.

Blooms red the Rose,
clinging to the vine.
Dull is the color,
as a Rose, fades away.
Treat life as a Rose,
the full bloom of life.
Seek peace with others,
while enjoying the newness,
of a new discovery; You.

A hole in my heart,
needs mending today,
as we begin the process
of moving you away.

My mind is spinning,
like a blade
in a wind storm.
Full of questions
about the upcoming days,
when my wife will move,
into a memory place.
I intend to go with her,
at least for awhile,
to make sure she's happy
and see her sweet smile.
