The Wind

Posted by MFish Profile 09/03/21 at 11:39PM Share Poetry See more by MFish

The wind,
like a whisper,
passes over the hill,
where we first met.
A meadow, plush
with wild fbeauty,
kissed by April showers.
The color so rich,
against the bland trees,
makes me feel refreshed,
again and I want to see,
you and your smile,
a delightful sight.

I waas trying to do free form. Thanks

Here sit I
in a living Hell,
coping with life,
not doing so well,
yet, my life is simple,
compared to my wife,
who's memories have fled.
No matter the dread,
which comes over me,
with the tears I shed,
as I no longer see.
The person I married,
will no longer be,
here to provide comfort
to this old couple, we.
Goodbye my love,
our parting brings sorrow,
for there is no future
of a beautiful tomorrow.

Words Peculiar

Words are peculiar.
Words which are spoken
your mind hears every day.
Words which are written,
may be corrected, if some
are in error or sound dumb.
An erasure of pencil
or where out of ink,
or deleted entirely,
faster than you can blink.
So choose wisely your words,
to avoid all embarrassment,
if your word choice is absurd.

Thank you very much, Loy. I do appreciate your comments. :)

The wail of a siren,
caught my aged ear.
Why does the sound
bring forth an old fear?
Volunteer fireman, what you were
in smaller communities,
when action was needed.
I stood and the siren did sound.
We followed the engine,
out of our small town.
A barn was on fire,
the flames were a roar.
We entered the barn,
to help set the horses free.
The fire was over,
the barn had burnt down,
but we didn't lose our animals
in this smallest old town.
