I went to a gathering
of friends and relatives,
I hadn't seen in a while.
I saw my Aunt and
said who I was.
She wasn't sure, so
she said, "Please smile."
I don't have much to
see, it's more like a grin,
but my Aunt said to me,
"Yes you are him."

The crows came by, the baby too,
letting me know they weren't pleased,
by leaving "bird doo"
splattered over the deck, I could see.
Thank you Lord for the freshets of rain.

The thought of you,
brings peace to my heart.
The way you were
when our love did start.
The warmth of your breath,
along the side of my cheek,
reminded me of the saying,
"Love is not for the weak."

The air was Plein.
Purple it was,
to capture the colors
with a lighting of Stars
and think of the planets,
of Jupiter and Mars
or the rings of Saturn,
would turn your head.
Why are those planets
just orbs of the dead?

My words
are the extension
of what's in my Soul,
for I speak the truth,
it's what I say
and I'll write of the truth,
every hour of every day.

There is no love,
like a lost love to thee,
for what you once wanted,
you can no longer see.

Emotional times,
are now in our life.
Together, forever,
as a man and a wife.
Long were the years,
long may they reign,
the string will be broken
and here I'll remain.
What sadness there is,
I cannot explain,
the last time I heard,
you speak out my name.
Yet life will continue,
long and beyond,
as I will remember
the love I had found.

No one cared
like you did
for me.
Now you
no longer care,
lost, I am,
in your memory.

A twinkling of Stars,
when they do their dance,
is the prelude for love,
if you are given the chance.

I can't understand.
I cannot surmise
about the thoughts,
behind your brown eyes.
You say, "I love you"
over and over, again.
I know you are afraid
but cannot explain, without logic
or reasoning, which is missing,
in your most beautiful mind.
When you say, "I used to be smart",
I know it is true,
but the one I married,
is no longer you.
I love you.
