Wind in the Willows
• 05/03/22 at 09:43PM •The wind in the Willows
plays new melodies,
while branches rub others,
the sound puts me at ease.
Retired for many years and now re-discovering some writings, from long ago, along with new endeavor to help save my soul.
The wind in the Willows
plays new melodies,
while branches rub others,
the sound puts me at ease.
Words leap from my mind
but stick in my throat
for I am too lame
and will never emote.
Writing the words
is the easiest to do.
It's the spoken word,
sticking , when I think of you.
A light in the eyes,
windows to the past
memories shared with others.
All these should last
but Fate can be fickle
and what was to be
are all the lost dreams
which are in my memory.
Tomorrow will come,
becoming Today
and soon it will be
a new yesterday.
How many days,
must pass us by,
before another
tomorrow is today?
I rode a small horse
to Banberry Cross.
I rode the horse gently,
I didn't need to rush.
Arriving at Olde Banberry Cross,
I began walking, to push
away all the people who
travelled to Banberry Cross.
You rang today.
I wasn't home.
No message was
left on the phone.
Do you love me
as you say you do,
or am I a fascination
of a friend you knew?
Red was the dawn,
with yellows and orange,
predicting a weather change,
skyline burning bright.
I tried to walk
but couldn't see,
what was wrong.
What's happening to me?
Loving you always
is what I must do,
for you are my life
and you know, I Love You.
Dark the clouds
on a Horizon far,
choking the light
from a dying star.
Her hair cut short,
her eyes aglow,
her smile will tell
her love for you.
When day is done,
when night drops in,
cherish your moments
as memories fade.
It flowed like a rocket,
shot to the Moon,
and stuck to the horizon,
like the molasses
clung to a spoon.
Using hot water would
have been better for me,
as I cooked with passion,
making a dish for thee.
Will you still remember me,
when I see you today?
I really hope you will,
and for this, I pray.
