He Was Cute
• 05/19/23 at 11:53PM •He was cute,
not too tall,
wasn't large,
kind of small.
A friendly boy,
He is the one.
Call him Emmet,
when day is done.
Retired for many years and now re-discovering some writings, from long ago, along with new endeavor to help save my soul.
He was cute,
not too tall,
wasn't large,
kind of small.
A friendly boy,
He is the one.
Call him Emmet,
when day is done.
Self-imposed, criticism,
is the worst.
Self-induced pressure,
make my head burst.
Forget about me,
you don't need the grief,
when looking for
the old, love thief.
Sitting, when Harry Nilsson,
starts singing,
"Living without you."
Cripes, just what I needed.
Then I thought of my wife.
Different story. Harrys singing
about leaving a girl.
A choice.
I think about losing my wife.
A choice no one made.
The Ostrich, sticks his head in the sand.
If I can't see anyone, its thought.
Pull your head out of the sand,
it's the middle of the night.
Why do some people,
we most certainly know,
never listen to reason,
saying "I didn't know."
We all must listen to others,
seeking as much advice,
as possible, from others,
it will make our life, nice.
Fickle!
Is that your game?
So afraid to learn,
it is your name.
Have we parted ways,
without a fight?
My mood is darkness,
both day and night.
Is this it,
no more hellos.
No more buttons,
no more bows?
If my words,
have hurt you, too,
please let me know.
I do care about you.
A late Spring wind,
blew the tree,
a whistling sound,
slightly off key.
Hot weather
now in sight,
soon to be
another sleepless night.
If you rode a white horse,
to Benberry Cross,
did you do it on purpose,
or were you lost?
I look,
I see,
a reflection,
of someone,
with old hair.
What stories,
that old head,
could tell.
The time draws nigh,
changes will soon occur,
as life moves on,
from chore to chore.
Time pours through,
porous glass,
no matter what,
time will still pass.
Having too much time,
on one's hands,
when boredom creeps in,
with the shifting sands.
Before The End,
attacks at night,
there is still time,
to stand and fight.
Fight for your rights.
to make choices
which affect your
life's happiness.
Rambling brambles,
Blackberries, too.
Stickers, a lot,
Scratches, a few.
