Words Spin Freely
• 07/15/23 at 04:05PM •Words spin freely,
from out my mind,
about loving another,
and not being unkind.
Words spin freely,
from out my mind,
about loving another,
and not being unkind.
Slanting rays of topaz,
floating through the air,
promising salvation,
removing the despair.
Sunlight, twinkling through,
branches with mottled leaves,
as flickering shadows dance
with song. In Nature I believe.
Is it a lack of trust,
which I now see?
Is it my unbelief,
about what is to be?
Am I losing my mind?
Can it possibly be,
I'm losing my grip
on my own sanity?
I am emotional,
when an old song, I hear,
twists my old heart,
as my eyes form a tear.
If love comes to you,
don't push it away.
Savor the feeling,
'til the end of your day.
Love may appear
in many ways,
knowing not what it is,
creates an emotional haze.
Accept willingly, all the love
you receive,
it will be important later,
when you must grieve.
Western the lights,
at the end of the day.
Sun shrouds feelings,
nights, on its way.
Twilight, a great one,
to release or to play.
Stay with me tonight,
please don't go away.
Soft were the rays,
when the East wind blew,
remembrances of my love
for only you.
We all need love,
it's not running away,
when you express love,
but home you will stay.
How much joy
is left in my heart,
after all the disease,
has taken us apart?
My life isn't over,
it's barely just begun.
I hope to live some more,
at least to a hundred and one.
Now, I could go tomorrow,
before the rising sun,
but I can't leave yet,
for my Wifes the only one.
Oh, sweet surrender,
come love me again,
as I miss your hugs
I no longer get weepy,
eyed, except when I
hear a Willie Nelson
song.
My writing is prolific,
it's what it seems.
I'm a simple old man,
I'm not a machine.
