Oregon Zoo’s summer happy hour series kicks off in May with a party for primates.
Each event will feature a different animal theme: May 9 will focus on primates, June 13 will celebrate predators such as cheetahs and painted dogs, July 11 will center on bird encounters, August 8 will honor the elephants and September 5 will focus on slippery characters such as otters, beavers and seals.
At the May 9 event, attendees will learn from the keepers who care for orangutans and chimpanzees about how the animals and their habitats are under threat, and find out what simple actions humans can take to help them.
Happy hour tickets will include zoo admission, a drink ticket, lawn games, photo ops, keeper talks, crafty activities and plenty of themed food and drink options. Verde Cocina, KOi Fusion and Hakuna Murata food carts will be on site, along with beer, wine, signature snacks and cocktails for the event.
