You come to me with questions
and grin from ear to ear
but when I say words to you,
you say I didn't hear.
Your light, infectious laughter,
when you're having fun,
makes me very happy,
that I call you my sons.

There are times I want to
crawl into a dark corner,
like a closet,
to contemplate
or get it together.
I like people but
there are times, when
I want to be alone.
Don't you?

Where would I go
in search of sorrow,
that long ago
crept in on me?
What should I try
to answer,
if the question is asked of me?

Shadows, fleeting shadows,
creep from beneath the tree,
grasping, every grasping,
reaching out for me.

When I was a child,
I feared the wind
because you told me so.
I always wore my hat
tied tight,
when the wind, did blow,
for with ears like mine
and a small behind,
it was the only way to go.

You work your magic ways
on me and
I feel better.
Sharing just a moment of your time,
soothes me.
Listening is a virtue you have,
like no other I have known.
Perhaps, someday
I will tell you.

Love you not a woman
for they will rue the day,
when those you thought
were friendly,
simply ran away.

Sliding quickly, beneath the covers,
feeling the cold embracing sheet,
soon our bodies
will mold together
and the warmth will reach your feet.
