When I was young, back in the day,
we lived in Seattle, out Riverton Heights way.
My Dad owned a business, after the war,
that was WW II, if you remember that far.
During the Spring, it was more merry;
I followed the creek to the Golden Arrow Dairy,
fishing the creek, which turned into a ditch,
provided great fun and relieved that youthful itch
of fishing and catching, with nary a mentor,
on this piece of land, now called South Center.

I see you here.
I see you there.
For Pete's sake,
Your everywhere.
I know not what
You bring to share,
But I will not
Stay unaware.

The Rhododendron leaves, are curled tight.
Fighting the Frost, throughout the night.
Nature has many ways, out and in,
To help these plants, to re-flower again.

You won't know what is inside
the fear that love will deride
to overcome the pain and decide,
to climb that proverbial mountain side.

When love is gone
and no longer there,
does life go on?
For life's not fair,
no place to go,
that I am aware.

My dear friend, a verse for you
to thank you for all you do.
You have helped me, with abandon not
to release all the skill, I've got.
Knowing that this writing is not pretty,
you must admit, it is a ditty.

I look out the window
and what do I see?
Frost covered lawn
and my Maple tree.
Frost, like a blanket,
providing little warmth to me,
a cold December,
chilling me and thee.

The mind is full of words
in disarray .
If not written down,
then there they stay,
to spin within and around
not making any sound,
but because they flit
within my head,
I sleep naught.
when I am in bed.

When the eyes well up
and the tears that flow,
do they rust your eyes
or clog your nose?

The aging process, we know, can't be delayed,
unless of course, we go away.
Not an option, not for me,
for I love my life's opportunity.
Push forward now, my life long friend,
and do the work, let's not pretend
