Public Charge:  How will immigrant families be impacted?

Please join presenters Charlie Mitchell, Senior Attorney at Northwest Health Law Advocates (nohla.org) and Eric Holzapfel, Deputy Director, Immigration Manager and DOJ-accredited representative at  Entre Hermanos (entrehermanos.org)  to discuss and learn more about:

- The concerns that immigrant families and communities are raising now that the Trump Administration has issued a "final" public charge rule that is scheduled to go into effect in mid-October.

- The current public charge law, what is and is not going to change, who will and who won't be subject to a public charge test, and the lawsuits seeking to prevent the changes from taking effect

- The current rules about the liabilities of "sponsors" who signed agreements to support immigrants, the "deeming" of sponsors' income to those immigrants, and information about how the government may change enforcement of those agreements.

- What and how you might communicate about these changes with concerned clients and community members
