Granada is one of the most important cities of Nicaragua in size after Managua, but it is the first city of historical interest and tourist importance, it is called La Gran Sultana, for its volcano, formerly known as El Sultán.

One of the best ways to get to know Granada is to walk through its streets on foot. Every corner looking at its peculiar avenues, you can admire the typical colonial buildings, most of which have been recently remodeled. Looking inside the colonial mansions of Granada you can admire the typical patios with tropical plants and the rooms with rocking chairs. The Granadinos usually bring these chairs to the platforms at night to take advantage of the fresh air while they roam in them.
