Local Focus – Global Reach

I can't say enough good things about Rachel. Though I've known her for more than half my life, I'm constantly blown away by how she uses her talents to give back to the community and the world. She's truly an amazing woman — and she's currently doing some pretty fantastic stuff with a non-profit called Rescue Freedom that's committed to freeing women and children from sex trafficking.

Needless to say — I'm proud to call this woman my friend.

We weren't an "outdoorsy family." My mom, always said, “Camping is one bathroom and slow room service."

So while I grew up hunting with my dad and building forts in the backyard, my childhood was spent with easy access to a shower and a soft bed.

But the older I've grown, the more I've learned to love the outdoors. The more I relish nature. It's a passion I can't wait to share with this little girl and continue to foster in myself.

A huge shoutout to Rachel Zupke for letting a novice hiker tag along and for introducing me to the amazing Brenda Ulinski — who graciously captured the pictures in this piece. You two fill my heart with joy. I can't wait to hit the trail with you again, perhaps with a little friend!

Nice article!

Not gonna beat around the bush, flying on a seaplane is one of my all-time favorite things to do. The views. The thrill. The fast travel times. Did I mention the views?

If you're curious what it's like and what you really should (and maybe shouldn't) pack — I have you covered!
