On Saturday, April 7th, 2018, Knut Bell and the Blue Collars are coming to Loco Billy’s Wild Moon Saloon in Stanwood! Doors open at 6:30 pm. $8 charge covers your entry, free billiards, and includes the line dancing lessons that start at 8:00 pm. Happy Hour is from 6:30-8:30 pm. Knut will take the stage at 9:00 pm but he has a LARGE local following, so get there early if you want a great seat! His music is Country, honky-tonk outlaw, and original country music covers. The Mount Vernon Downtown Association is excited to announce the First Saturday Art Walk on Saturday, April 7th, 2018 from 2:00-5:00 pm. The walk will take place in downtown Mount Vernon.
Charlotte Slade Decker, a poster artist is exhibiting 'Embellish.'
Perry and Carlson will be showcasing Debra and Goldman with her collection titled 'Ohana: Dreaming in Red.'

Farmstrong Restaurant and Brewery is hosting the second annual Chili and Chowder Cook-off! This event is presented by Craft Stove. $15 gets you six samples and your vote! If you want to be a contestant it is $25. Professionals and amateurs are both welcome to compete! There will be two different divisions for amateurs and professionals, so put yourself in the division that you think you have the best shot at winning in!
There will be 8 prizes awarded. (A first and second place for best chowder and best chili in each division)
*There will also be a trophy for “Best of Show”, so get creative!*
1st place chili and chowder in each division: $150 and a plaque, 2nd place chili and chowder: your entry fee back.

What an interesting topic! You will have the opportunity to learn about wild mushrooms, their purpose in the forest, morphology, and all of the different ways that wild mushrooms can be used! Dress for the weather and prepare to get a little muddy as you head out into the forest to find the mushrooms! The guide, Travis. will show you what mushrooms are safe to eat and also the poisonous ones. This would be an awesome opportunity to learn for anyone interested in learning basic survivalist skills!

Stilly River Yarns has started a new meet up- ‘Saturday Spin-In’! These afternoons are filled with men and women of all ages and experience levels. Any and all are welcome to join in the fun! They do ask that you bring all of your own fibers and spinning equipment. For children ages 14 and under they ask that a parent be present for the entire afternoon.
