The Great Northwest Glass Quest is back this February! This event is a wonderful experience for all ages! Bundle up and get outdoors to various Stanwood/Camano Parks and participating businesses to look for and find clue balls. This event is FREE to participate. If you find a clue ball hidden at any of the participating businesses, you then redeem it for a uniquely hand blown signed/stamped glass ball made by Mark Ellinger. Come check out this FREE football camp for girls and women of all ages on Saturday, February 16th, 2019 at 9:00 am. Every female should be free to follow her sport dreams! That being said, the Seattle Spartans WFA are hosting this fun event! 

Items needed: Mouth guard, athletic wear, athletic shoes, and water.

Register your child today for a survival skills camp! Your child will learn basic outdoor skills while enhancing their self-confidence and having FUN! Campers will have fun learning about how energy transfers from one plant or animal to another, what to do when caught in disastrous weather, what to do when faced with a wild animal, bird identification and MUCH MORE! The majority of camp is held OUTSIDE, so dress your child accordingly.  Pack a lunch, snacks, and water bottles. This camp is designed for kids ages 6-12. Cost is $42 per child.

Join Tamara Shelley in this essential oils workshop on Sunday, March 10th, 2019 at 2:00 pm. In this workshop, you will discuss how essential oils can help with sensory integration. This workshop is for special needs moms who are open to natural and effective health care. During the workshop, you will be able to make different essential oil samples for $5 each. There will be 1-3 season games played and those are to be determined.

Avalanche Awareness Workshop (Oak Harbor, WA)

Learn about winter back-country dangers, avalanche avoidance techniques, use of safety equipment, proper winter wear, and how to use an avalanche transceiver in this avalanche awareness class. This class may be taken alone, or as a prerequisite for a mountaineering trip, or ice axe arrest class. This is an informational class and not a certification class. This class is designed for persons age 10 and up.

Ice Axe Skills Workshop (Oak Harbor, WA)

Two classes are being offered through the Oak Harbor Convergence Zone to prepare for the upcoming summit trips that will be available. The classes are: Avalanche Awareness and Ice Axe Skills. Ice Axe skills are used in a mountaineering environment to allow you to travel safely to your destination. Should you slip or fall, you will learn how to arrest (stop) yourself and come to a safe and efficient stop without aid of ropes or other devices. Cost is $34 per person, designed for ages 14& up. Don't miss these opportunities to put your safety first this season. You won't regret it!

Join the Stanwood and Camano Chambers of Commerce for the February Joint Chamber Meeting. This meeting will be held at the Stanwood Camano YMCA on Thursday, February 21st, 2019 at 11:30 am. This meeting will focus on health and wellness. The YMCA Wellness Department will be discussing "Readiness to Change" as well as what regular physical activity actually does for the body. They will also give tips on how to incorporate physical activity even while working a desk job. Come learn and discuss all of the different opportunities the YMCA has to offer our community. Also joining this luncheon will be Dr. Ray Pope, from Pope Chiropractic. Lunch will be provided by Island Girls Catering. Tickets are $15 per person. Don't miss this opportunity to get involved in your community!
