What an interesting topic! You will have the opportunity to learn about wild mushrooms, their purpose in the forest, morphology, and all of the different ways that wild mushrooms can be used! Dress for the weather and prepare to get a little muddy as you head out into the forest to find the mushrooms! The guide, Travis. will show you what mushrooms are safe to eat and also the poisonous ones. This would be an awesome opportunity to learn for anyone interested in learning basic survivalist skills! 
$45 for adults, $25 for students and children 10+, children under age 10 are FREE! - Your admission cost will get you FREE coffee and a booklet with more information and recourses to continue your education! You can register on their website or pay cash in person on the day of.

Stanwood’s weekly Saturday Spin-In!

Stilly River Yarns has started a new meet up- ‘Saturday Spin-In’! These afternoons are filled with men and women of all ages and experience levels. Any and all are welcome to join in the fun! They do ask that you bring all of your own fibers and spinning equipment. For children ages 14 and under they ask that a parent be present for the entire afternoon. The meet-ups will be from 1:00-4:00 pm at Stilly River Yarns in Stanwood. Come check it out and expand your skills with a diverse crowd!

On Saturday, March 24th, 2018 from 11:00 am to 3 pm, the Skagit Valley Co-Op is hosting a wellness fair. All are welcome! Come explore the natural path to wellness with hands-on classes taught by health coaches and wellness experts. Classes will include essential oil remedies, gardening, pickling and fermenting foods, along with information on transitioning into a plant-based diet.

On Saturday, April 7th, 2018 come check out this beautiful preserve with a two mile walk along the perimitive trail which also includes the wetland trai! You can also get a tour of the Four-Springs house, Meadow room, and barn if you wish! The scenery here is absolutely breathtaking. A hidden gem on Camano Island! Meet at the Four-Springs parking lot at 9:50 am.

The Art Bash opening ceremony will be held on Friday, April 6th from 5:30-8:00 pm. The Art Bash officially kicks off on Saturday, April 7th through Sunday, April 22nd, 2018 at the Farmhouse Restaurant (upstairs) the Skagit Artists show will be held daily from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm between those dates. Come on by, grab a bite to eat and appreciate the art of 21 local artists!

Stanwood Daffodil Fest!

Stanwood Freeborn Lutheran Church has their annual daffodil fest coming up on Saturday, March 24th, and March 31st, 2018 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. This event is a local art fair to celebrate spring and creative expressions! One of the sponsors, Bonhoeffer Botanical Gardens, has a boardwalk set up and you can see all of the blooming native plants. Explore many local art vendors, live music, raffles and prizes, children’s art show, and bake sale! On the March 31st date there will be lunch as well as an Easter egg hunt. This is a FREE outdoor event!

Little Mountain Trail Volunteer Work Party

On Saturday, March 24th, 2018 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm come on out to Little Mountain Park to volunteer your time and efforts to get the trails back in shape. Due to the heavy rain and freezing temperatures over the last month the trails are unfortunately in bad shape. No experience necessary. Lunch, refreshments, and equipment are all provided. Dress for the weather with the understanding that you may get a little dirty.
