Was It Wrong
• 04/04/24 at 10:14AM •Was it wrong,
to fall in love with you?
It depends on asking,
about what to do.
Was it wrong,
to fall in love with you?
It depends on asking,
about what to do.
I pray you were
able to sleep,
for you're who I adore.
I want our friendship to keep.
Does it make any sense,
to write about scents,
when you are thinking
about cents?
Since it's hard to explain,
or make any sense,
when you speak about
words, considered to be nonsense.
At what point,
should you give in,
to a love pursuit,
you can't win?
It begs the question,
to ask, once more.
Should I stay,
or go out the back door?
To admire someone
from afar,
shows how precious
lives really are.
I have admired you
from near and far,
creature of beauty
that you are
and I see you.
Secretive glances
that I've made,
unable to utter,
my words unsaid
and unspoken.
We are worlds apart,
you and I,
nor can you see,
the look in my eye,
as I think of you.
Her long, golden tresses,
spilled down from her head.
She put them in curlers,
before going to bed.
Why do we ask,
or talk about things,
because dating is great,
when you receive rings.
A gift from a lover,
a male friend,
adds sweetness to the pot,
when a love you amend.
Please understand,
Candy is dandy,
but liquor is quicker.
Jewelry is handy.
A long goodbye,
a sweet hello,
reminds me of
the day we met.
It was early Spring,
or perhaps late fall,
when we danced
and then the ball,
was a great place
to be with you,
for you made me,
fall in love with you.
It's been many years,
of heavenly bliss,
now I am yearning,
for your sweet kiss.
That will only happen,
if we go out the door,
and search for memories,
about those days of yore.
Her skin was pale,
you could call it fair,
with eyes of brown,
the girl with Ebony hair.
Her voice did sparkle,
a nice trait, but rare,
as a quintessential soul,
the girl with Ebony hair.
I met her a while ago,
not remembering where,
but I fell in love with,
the girl with Ebony hair.
So many years, past,
a life we did share,
now she is gone,
the girl with the Ebony hair.
How much I miss her,
I'm willing to share,
forever the memories of
the girl with the Ebony hair.
Why am I sad?
I sit here, I do,
Where have you gone?
What did I do?
I feel like,
I'm in a trance.
My body wants you,
I want to dance.
Dance with you, slowly,
the old style dance,
and keep you close,
as I'll have a chance,
to love you tomorrow,
and the following day,
for I won't let you go,
I need you to stay.
Love me today.
Love me tomorrow.
Love through good times,
Love me when in sorrow.
From a time when I wrote, as if I was a Poet.
You are like no other woman
I have ever known.
You turn darkness into light,
with your smile.
You chase the doubt from my mind,
with your words.
You dry the tears from my eyes,
with your kiss.
You turn sadness into joy,
with your presence.
The touch of your hand,
makes it real.
For I will never know,
another you.
