A community in India called Banda has been facing severe water scarcity due to climate change and overuse of resources. Now it has found a way to combat drought by implementing a system of water budgeting to minimize overuse of resources and water waste.  The villagers have reported an increase in crop yields and have been able to maintain a steady supply of water for their daily needs. More at Reasons to be Cheerful ➜

People come. People go.
Good friends are sought,
telling you when you're wrong.
Doing it nicely to change your thought.

Thank you for that,
for it's good to know,
he has my back,
wherever I go.

Thank you, my friend.
See you at Happy Hour.

It sounds like Myron is a good friend to have. I like the poem.

A sad Christmas for my family this year and a sad Christmas many years ago.

Pain in my chest,
a feeling of sinking,
has given me flutters.
No, I'm not drinking.

Did I do enough,
in caring for you?
Please God,
What do I do?

I've seen death before,
when my father went,
but this moment in time,
is feeling much different.

Where do I go?
Please tell me how,
I continue to live,
after failing my wedding vow?

I feel I have failed,
my life's task.
How do I know,
Who do I ask?

Beautiful poem, although in my view, you have been a very loving, caring and supportive husband who was dedicated to your vows.

NASA Astronomy Picture of the Day:

Why is this jellyfish swimming in a sea of stars? Drifting near bright star Eta Geminorum, seen at the right, the Jellyfish Nebula extends its tentacles from the bright arcing ridge of emission left of center. In fact, the cosmic jellyfish is part of bubble-shaped supernova remnant IC 443, the expanding debris cloud from a massive star that exploded. Light from the explosion first reached planet Earth over 30,000 years ago. Like its cousin in astronomical waters, the Crab Nebula supernova remnant IC 443 is known to harbor a neutron star -- the remnant of the collapsed stellar core. The Jellyfish Nebula is about 5,000 light-years away. At that distance, the featured image would span about 140 light-years across. Your Sky Surprise: What picture did APOD feature on your birthday?
