Not to brag, but I consider myself an expert in the field of mental health. That’s because I’ve spent two decades attempting (usually in vain) to decipher the complex inner workings of the minds of children – specifically mine... More at View from the Bleachers ➜

Rabbit and Hare

A small, bunny, rabbit
and European brown Hare
went on a date,
heaven knows where.

Out to the garden
where the was plenty of food,
for who knew what Ms. Rabbit,
thought would taste good.

Carrots were first on the list,
the #1 item on the menu.
Came next the lettuce,
which was much easier to chew.

Pausing to munch
on a carrot or two,
asking the waitress,
what should I do?

Pick something sweet,
and easy to chew,
is what I would choose,
try it you've nothing to lose.

What they ate was
scrumptious food,
knowing the next time,
would set the mood.

A long, tailed racoon,
went to the Moon.
He was searching, for
his friend the Loon.

Long was the journey,
to his own Moon.
It was an adventure,
ending too soon.

A fictional journey,
about a fork and a spoon,
just another story,
in this month of June

Thank you. Perhaps more nonsensical verse is in order.

I recently made a car rental reservation online through DOLLAR RENT A CAR. But when I reached their rental car counter at a few minutes before its closing time, I learned something very unexpected: DOLLAR RENT A CAR does not rent cars - at least not to me. Imagine my surprise.
Read the heartfelt letter I sent thanking them for the truly unforgettable experience they put me through.

A flame, now lit
as a story came,
about one person,
with a funny last name.

Joe Dweed, was the man
who had to place blame,
on the person,
with the funny last name.

So, what, you say,
it has already been said.
It's nuts, full of heartaches
and sorrow, so he fled.

Why run away when
you have a funny last name,
it was nothing you did.
There's no reason for shame.

If love was a number,
would it be odd or even?
If you must choose,
Seven or eleven.

A ditty from the,
"Two, four, six, eight"
chanting about
"Who do we appreciate?"

We all have a number,
which we will choose.
Not ones or "Snake eyes"
stay with threes or twos.

The lines, in this babble
of words which I write,
are becoming idiotic,
this sleepiest night.

So off to bed, I will go
my words will be few.
Goodnight to you,
Farewell and adieu.
