On my hands and knees
in a thicket of Jack Pine.
Cold and wet, was I,
don't mean to whine.

I heard a branch break
and then I did see,
a young female deer,
looking at me.

I didn't move,
neither did she.
She then decided
to ignore, lonely me.

Off she did amble,
moving slowly away.
For me it was
a wonderful day.
