• 04/22/24 at 03:36AM •Marianne Craig Moore (1887 – 1972). American modernist poet, critic, translator, and editor. Moore was born near St. Louis, Missouri. She is consider one of American literature’s foremost poets, Moore's first professionally published poems appeared in The Egoist and Poetry in the spring of 1915. Her poetry is noted for its precise diction, irony, and wit. She was nominated for the 1968 Nobel Prize in Literature by Nobel Committee member Erik Lindegren.
