Green Was the Grass
• 04/12/24 at 11:38AM •Green was the grass,
near somewhere I'd be,
down by the river,
where you could find me.
Green was the grass,
near somewhere I'd be,
down by the river,
where you could find me.
Were you ever lonely?
Did you think you'd see,
a black and white caterpillar?
I ask, for that was me.
I have changed,
now I can go up high,
pretty I am, as,
a black and white butterfly.
There was a little bit of nothing,
sitting in the road.
A small voice said, "Hey! I'm something,
My name is Alqaisis Toad."
"I'm a very small amphibian,
not much of a load,
but I know I'm something,
when I'm sitting on the road."
"Would you ever stop for me,
a stumpy amphibian, that tiptoed,
for this small amphibian,
who was sitting in the road?"
Remember to drive slowly,
when going to your abode,
for you may see small amphibians,
who like to sit on the road.
Why has life become,
not fun anymore?
It's the same game,
when we don't keep score.
My life has more sadness,
with an aching desire,
for my emotions,
are now on fire.
Will you remember,
the vows we made,
when with another?
Someone said.
Forewarned the wind,
of events, yet to come.
Bad news for many,
Good news for some.
Once, our lives were,
joyous and peaceful,
next the attacks,
so blatantly willful.
Attacking the innocent,
elsewhere, abroad,
In the name of
a different God.
Are you a skeptic,
of things you, see?
I am, at the moment,
for I cannot see, thee.
When did life,
lose its simplicity,
of loving thy neighbor,
and do unto thee?
To respect others
and all the family,
building it with love
and civility.
From out of the dust,
of ill-gotten gains,
who is the culprit,
sharing the blame?
Comes forth, the dark horse,
with all the trash it will bring,
pouring forth the truth,
with each song to sing.
A backward look
and inward glance,
In a bar, searching for
a new romance.
Not the best
place to be,
if you're trying to
find a new reverie.
Floundering,
in a sea,
of unfulfilled dreams,
searching for thee.
A bright,
heavenly floss,
a thread, suspended in air,
flits across my head.
What a strange phenomenon,
on this early Spring morning,
when bits of colored thread,
from the recently born spirits,
encompasses you.
Golden rays of sunshine,
filtered through,
flowering trees,
bringing an essence.
A scent which will overcome,
all your earthly desires.
