The worm turned,
its ugly head,
toward me and
then he said,

"Hey white boy,
what did you say,
you think you can quit
and run away,

from your past,
in this life's game?"
Hiding again,
when you forgot your name.

Where do you,
think you are?
A stupid man,
who's gone too far.

Running Hard.
Running fast.
Running tired,
Just won't last.

Your creaky slow,
when you start,
then you warm up
and play your part.

Much like life,
in any age,
do another task,
turn the page.

Long lay the flowers,
stems turning black.
Once a lovely bouquet,
now the healthy look they lack.

What happened here?
Why are the still in the vase?
From eternal beauty,
to a dried, ugly face.

There are always stains,
in every place we dwell,
for these the road to perdition
has become a living hell.

We hear the bells ringing,
the essence of hearing the knell.
Across this land of Crafty
Wizards, casting and leaving a spell.

A love of make believe,
or it could be true.
Depends on your imagination,
or upon how you will view.

I'm lost in my mind,
an unthinkable thing,
for knowing the sadness,
and what it will bring.

Think not of others,
before you sing,
for the more power,
the sadness, will bring.

Someday, somewhere,
Angels, will arrive,
to enlighten you,
keeping you alive.

When Dawn breaks,
on a new day,
life will move forward,
a World in which you will stay.

When love ends,
what happens then?
No more acting,
no let's pretend.

It was after 10 PM,
the first time we met.
It was a small bar,
I'm still trying to forget.

I called her Helen,
she called me Dear.
Together for 6 months,
then she didn't appear.

I forgot about her,
after a few years.
I saw her again,
and she disappears.

What lessons are learned,
when a close friend goes away?
Don't get too cozy,
they probably won't stay.

Thoughts are racing,
through this old head,
then I remember,
you are now dead.

I have a love,
which I no longer can give,
to the one I loved then,
who I wish could still live.

Alongside, the roadway,
he lay in the ditch,
covered with mud,
he was not known to be rich.

Found that morning,
two sheets to the wind,
unable to speak,
so, they called him, Jim.

Taken to jail,
the drunk tank, it was.
Laying in the filth,
for a reason or cause.

He awoke from his stupor,
not knowing where he was.
His mind was blank,
or specifically, in pause.

What will happen to be,
will he be healed by laws,
or remain where he is,
a traditional lost cause?

Memories of times, long ago, but still here today.

Oh, the joy I see,
when in Skin and Soul,
is from the love I feel,
from those who make me whole.

A caring for others,
when you enter and start,
personifies my being as
seeing the love from their heart.

Where else could you travel,
what else could you do,
when people who are special,
help you find the real you.
