Wayward the boy,
young lad, he.
Wayward the boy,
the boy was me.

Called a "Rowdy",
by some, when in town.
In reality, he was shy,
his pride not found.

Growing into life,
his maturity rose,
now he is known,
for his posture and poise.

Sometimes it's great,
to write from the shallows.
Not to pontificate about,
thoughts in short swallows.

I'm telling a story in words
really quite bland,
for the depth of my words,,
from a mindless, shallow man.

You are my friend,
my sweet Nancy May.
I'll love you forever,
forever and a day.

We shall get married,
going on our way,
to a small house,
not far away.

We will be happy,
as man and wife,
as we live our lives,
without any strife.

What must I do,
helping you understand,
you are the best thing
to happen, so grand.

No more the worry,
no more crying in bed,
because of something
stupid, I said.

I love you dearly,
truly I do,
for all to see.
I love you.

Absurdity, at its finest,
has brought me this far.
A long distance to walk,
when you don't own a car.

Will you understand,
will you even care,
when going through life,
completely unaware.

Unaware of life,
projected today,
full of false promises.
Don't promise to stay.

Go away someplace,
unknown to anyone,
enjoying your life,
when it is no longer fun.

If a question
is raised,
should you
be appraised,

no matter the infraction,
asked of you,
provide a reason for
your point of view?

A void, a blank exists,
in the front of my head.
No longer a thought,
now just a thread,

to a life clear,
of something I said.
Can you please help me,
is what should be read.

Life's incredulous tragedies,
is there instead.
Please go away,
ignore what I said.

I pray you were
able to sleep,
for you're who I adore.
I want our friendship to keep.

At what point,
should you give in,
to a love pursuit,
you can't win?

It begs the question,
to ask, once more.
Should I stay,
or go out the back door?

A long goodbye,
a sweet hello,
reminds me of
the day we met.

It was early Spring,
or perhaps late fall,
when we danced
and then the ball,

was a great place
to be with you,
for you made me,
fall in love with you.

It's been many years,
of heavenly bliss,
now I am yearning,
for your sweet kiss.

That will only happen,
if we go out the door,
and search for memories,
about those days of yore.

Careless the heart,
quick to share love,
to an unplanned response's
message from above.

I can still keep
looking for love
and companionship,
with guidance from above.

We all need love.
From the day we were born,
when love finds you,
come blow your horn.

I remember,
the sweetness,
of your lips.
Our first kiss.

You were everything
to me, my courage,
my strength and
my personal sage.
