Etta, was \r\nthe proprietor, owner, all around worker in this\r\nsmall community, tavern. She was a short woman,\r\nabout 50 years old, not tiny but of a substantial,\r\nsize. I won't attempt to estimate her weight. She\r\nwas someone that was sought out in this area,\r\nnot only for her great sense of humor but also,\r\nbecause she handled all her customers in a fashion,\r\nboth efficient and helpful. A well-known person, in this\r\nsmall community. If a stranger came in, they may have,\r\nfound her gruff, but inside she had a heart of gold.\r\nI enjoyed going there, for an occasional beer and to hear,\r\nfrom others what was going on in the community. This was\r\nduring my early college years, before getting married, as I \r\nwas still living at home. I still remember this place and after\r\nI had moved away, when I returned to see my parents, I \r\nwould make a quick trip to say hello to Etta and to have a\r\nwee sip.\r\nUnfortunately, this location burnt down, several years ago. The\r\nrumor was Arson, but nothing came of the investigation. Now,\r\nI reflect about Etta. A great woman who kept us young men\r\nin line and always dispensed advice in a loving way.\r\nI miss you Etta, very much and thank you for your efforts in\r\nguiding my view about the good in people.
