This two weekend event begins on Friday, May 11th and runs through Sunday, May 13th and then again on Saturday, May 19th and Sunday, May 20th, 2018 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm! There are over 30 artists’ work that you’ll get to enjoy while driving around the beautiful island! Some of this work includes photography, painting, ceramics, jewelry, sculpture, paintings and glass. The tour isn’t a one-stop shop- you’ll be traveling around to different galleries and businesses showcasing the artwork. The talent is truly incredible and something that anyone could appreciate! While you’re up here for the weekend check out some of the local restaurants and beaches. It’s a one of a kind experience on Camano!
The Boy Scouts troop 46 is holding their very first spring bazaar at the Stanwood Fairgrounds! There will be a pulled pork lunch with sides of macaroni and cheese, veggie cups and coleslaw!.

Ever wondered how you could help a loved one or a friend who might be battling suicidal thoughts or attempts? “ASIST” is an evidence-based 2-day suicide intervention workshop. Participants learn suicide first-aid skills that help identify a persons at risk for suicide as well as a unique experience with a suicide intervention model that can be used to keep someone safe until that person can get long term recourses of help. Registration is required online at scsuicideprevention.org. Seats are limited. Llunch is provided on both days. It is a suggested donation of $50. Sponsorships are available.

On Saturday, April 21st, 2018, The Floyd Norgaard Cultral Center is hosting the 7th annual Stanwood area Historical Society Spring Tea and Vintage Exhibit! Come hungry! This event has a catered lunch by Stanwood Highschool’s very own culinary art class! Enjoy tea while you watch the fashion show! Students will be walking the runway in vintage fashions! There will also be a raffle and prizes for best hat and best vintage costume - so be sure to dress up! Event starts at 12:30 pm and tea will be poured at 1:30 pm. The Camano Island chamber of commerce is searching for colunteers go help clean up the sides of Cross Island Rd. The date is Saturday, April 21st, 2018 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. The more people that volunteer, the quicker they finish! Safety gear will be provided! They are asking that any volunteer would be at least age 15 due to safety purposes. Curious about fencing or wanting to brush up on your techniques? On Saturdays, starting March 24th, 2018 through April 14th, 2018, the Stanwood/Camano Fencing Club will be holding beginner and intermediate fencing lessons at Cedarhome Baptist Church. The lessons will be held from 10:0” am to 11:00 am in the Fellowship hall unless there is a conflicting church event then it will be in the old sanctuary. Beginners mayare free and may borrow the equipment. After 3 sessions, you will be charged the normal dues and have to purchase your own equipment ($130). $5 per fencer per visit for a maximum of $15 per month.

The second annual Camano Island Historic Sites tour is coming up on Friday, April 6th - Sunday, April 8th, 2018 from 8:00 a 4:00 pm. This is a FREE (for all ages) self guided tour, although there is an option of a guided walking tour.
On the tour, you can try your hand at butter churning and explore the several exhibits they will have set up at each artifact. Some of the things you can expect to see on the tour include: 100+ year old buildings, Barns, schools and churches. There will be a pipe organ concert as well as a big band dance. You also have the option of staying the weekend in one of the cabins or one of the local bed and breakfasts!
