Saving young hearts and communities from Sudden Cardiac Arrest

The mission of Nick of Time Foundation is to foster awareness of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) in children and young adults through the formation of school and community public access defibrillator (PAD) programs; free youth heart screenings, SCA education and awareness programs.

Message To Our Supporters & Volunteers

Since our screenings are offered free to all students we rely heavily on the support of local community volunteers like you. Shifts can be 2-3 hours, half day or all day, if necessary. It really is a team effort and takes the local communities helping us keep their youth heart healthy

Sudden Cardiac Arrest is the leading cause of death in exercising young athletes.
Many have an undiagnosed heart abnormality with no symptoms until death.
Nick of Time, UW Medicine and SCH, help communities, by offering ON-SITE heart screenings for students as a way to promote awareness of undiagnosed heart disease.
A thorough family history and physical examination that includes an ECG and/or ECHO.
Approximately 2% of youth that are heart-screened are diagnosed with a life threatening heart abnormality or concern. We will be facilitating a screeing at Redmond HS on 10-5-11.
